Mariam’s Experience Feeding Goat Milk-based First Foods to her Daughter

Toddler holding a bag of Kabrita Organic Goat Milk Porridge

Every parent’s feeding experience is as unique as their baby. While the journey may be easy for some, others may struggle. Real Parent Story is a series on our blog where we ask realparents to share their feeding stories. Whether you’re expecting or already have little one, we hope these stories can offer you insight into what worked (or didn’t work) for parents just like you.

Today, we will be sharing Mariam's Story

How did you first hear of Kabrita?

From a blog page called "Starts with Mom".

What product(s) has your little one tried?

Kabrita Multigrain Porridge

Did the ‘European quality’ influence your decision to try Kabrita’s products?

Yes! Mainly because I know European products aren't afraid of using goat milk and spelt.

Can you please share a bit about your little one’s past experience with other cereals or porridges? Is there a reason why you were interested in goat milk-based porridge?

So, ever since my baby turned 4 months, people kept pushing me to give her rice cereal, even to include it in her breast milk. However, I'm highly against fillers and I wanted something with more nutrition, especially being that I made her food from home. We hardly ever bought anything packaged. So I decided to do oatmeal instead. I found out that she had a very hard time digesting it so we went away from oatmeal for a while and alongside nursing, I would just cook her regular fruits, eggs veggies, occasional bread. When I saw on Instagram that Kabrita was organic with no fillers, some oats, spelt, and goat milk, I was so intrigued. I knew that goat milk is a really good introduction for future milk, easy on the digestion and it's generally really healthy. So I ordered my first batch from Amazon. I was a bit nervous about her trying it...Nervous about the digestion but she loved it. It really was easily digestible. I also believe that it really helped the introduction of oatmeal into her diet. I found out about Kabrita when Elise was 8 months. My one regret? I didn't find out about it sooner. It really is a blank canvas for other foods. You can mix it with fruits, veggies and, eggs, even nut butter. We love it. It's a staple in our home.

Can you please share a bit about your little one’s past experience with other puffs? Is there a reason why you were interested in goat milk-based snack puffs?

The only puffs we've ever had are homemade ones. She had some veggie chips a while ago and a little bit of pea flour Cheerios. I'm interested in them because she's at that stage where she loves snacks. It would be awesome to take it on the go and the added protein from goat cheese is a HUGE plus.

How did your little one take to the introduction of Kabrita Porridges and/or Puffs?

She eats the porridge at least 3 times a week and loves it.

What did your little one think of the taste?

It's a general breakfast starter for her. Very comforting and cozy. I can drink my coffee and give her her porridge before the busy-ness of the day takes over.

Did you notice any benefits for your little one associated with this new Kabrita product introduction?

Yes, tolerance to oats and even other dairy products like cheese. Nothing medical though.

What is your favorite thing about Kabrita?

The wonderful ingredients. I use oats and spelt in general baking and goat cheese. So I know what's in it.
